FAQAP (Frequently asked questions about pizza)
1
Why does this page exist?
Honestly? SEO. The AI web developer said we needed more text on the site and suggested a FAQ. This is that. How many questions are really frequently asked — this is a pretty straightforward endeavor.
Is Shredders family friendly?
2
Yes, wholeheartedly so! We made this pizza shop in large part because we wanted delivery pizza that our kids would love and we would love too. We think we have the best delivery pizza in Houston! Bring the kids — they can see the crew making pizza, plus we have crayons, homemade coloring books, natural wine, and great music on all the time. These things are not in conflict.
Where are you located?
3
1777 Airline Drive, Houston TX 77009. The Heights. In the former Chicago Beef space.
Do you deliver?
4
That's kind of our whole thing PIZZA NEAR ME! We deliver to the Greater Heights including Woodland Heights, Sunset Heights, and Historic Heights as well as Lindale Park, Timbergrove, Oak Forest, Garden Oaks, and Independence Heights.
What's the delivery radius?
5
Check out this map. Our inner zone is about 2.4 miles and we have FREE IN-HOUSE DELIVERY. The outer zone is almost 5 miles, charges a $7.99 delivery fee, and will be delivered by DoorDash drivers, but without the markup on DoorDash pizza delivery.
Do you deliver wine?
6
Our entire menu of small producer Italian natural wines is available for delivery with your pizza order. Plus our selection of local craft beers is also available for delivery.
I'm outside the pizza delivery radius?
7
You are welcome to come and pick up your fresh hot pizza, or if you are willing to risk it, we do have our pizzas listed for delivery on Uber Eats and DoorDash — but if you are in our range we would much prefer you order online through our website. Keep the best pizza in Houston local!
Can I dine in?
8
We have two big tables and they are first come first served, plus a few smaller tables outside. Honestly, the vibe is very friendly and it's not unusual for folks to run into their neighbors and end up sharing wine and pizza and a table.
Of course. Order online for the easiest experience, you can also call, but sometimes if it's super busy we don't get to the phone.
9
Can I pick up?
My online pizza order says it will take an hour (90 min, 2 hours, etc.) before my pizza is ready. Is that true?
10
Unfortunately, probably yes. When it gets really busy we can only fit so many pizzas in the oven. We do attempt to prioritize walk-in orders and we are getting faster, but at peak times waits can hit 90+ min. If you want to be sure your pickup is ready, you can order ahead of time.
What makes your pizza different?
11
We set out to make the best delivery pizza we could imagine, which means focusing on all the small details. We use a blend of King Arthur and Barton Mills flour, cold fermented for 30 hours, top quality California canned tomatoes, the best mozzarella shredded in house (Grande cheese for life), shaped by hand and baked directly in a stone oven, not a conveyor belt. And most importantly, we really care.
Is this Pizza New York style? New Haven Style? Neapolitan Style?
12
We were inspired by the pizza we ate growing up. We studied New York style and New Haven style. We knew we wanted a crispy, light, thin crust hand tossed pizza. Houston style would also be acceptable as an answer since we're in Houston making it.
What is natural wine?
13
Wine made with minimal intervention — no additives, small producers, usually pretty interesting. Not all of our wines are “natural” strictly speaking, but we picked ones that are made with integrity, go well with pizza, and don't cost a fortune. You don't have to know anything about wine to order it.
Which wine pairs best with my pizza?
14
We chose the wines because they ALL pair well with pizza. Pick your style, grab a bottle, you can't go wrong. But really the answer is Lambrusco.
One guy on Reddit/r/pizza called you mid. Response?
15
Man, lotta haters out there on the internet! We love them all though. Pizza is fun. We like our pizza a lot and we hope you do too
Can I get Shredders catered for my event?
16
Yes. Email info@shredderspizza.com and we'll figure it out.
Will Shredders donate 20 pizzas to my kid's school/civic association/book club/bowling league finals?
17
As much as we would love to support everyone and give free pizza to everyone who asks, we are a small business and we're not currently able to offer pizza for direct donation unless it's something that has been personally cleared by us. We do offer a fun Spirit Night program for youth education, arts, and creative organizations — see below.
Will Shredders host a spirit night for our PTO/Zine Club/Break Dancing Squad?
18
We would love to. We host a weekly spirit night for any youth-focused creative or educational nonprofit. Rather than limiting our donation to just your supporters, we will cross promote the event and make a donation of 10% of total sales for the night to the organization. We are a community and we all do better when we support each other. Shoot us an email at info@shredderspizza.com.
Can my band play at Shredders / can I have an art show at Shredders?
19
Probably. Shoot us an email at info@shredderspizza.com.
